**UPDATE** Negro Arrested In Vicious Beating Of Elderly White Woman

Monroe County, GA
A 37 year old negro has been arrested in connection with a home invasion and beating of an elderly White woman last week. 71 year old Betty Stancil was severely beaten after Marvin Lorenzo Shannon entered her home and demanded money from the elderly grandmother.

Police tracked Shannon to a Monroe County apartment complex and arrested him there on Monday night. Shannon has been sent back to Winder where he was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery and will remain in the Barrow County jail, possibly facing additional charges.

A man suspected of beating a 71-year-old woman so severely during a home invasion that her relatives did not recognize her has been arrested by city of Winder police officers.

A five-member team of officers tracked 37-year-old Marvin Lorenzo Shannon to an apartment complex in Monroe County, where he was taken into custody without incident about 10 p.m. Monday.

Shannon is accused in the March 17 home invasion that left Betty Stancil with fractures to her face and neck. Angel Stancil, the woman’s granddaughter, says she saw her grandmother in the hospital after the attack and didn't even recognize her.

“I can't understand how somebody could do that and I know that she was probably begging,” her Angel said.

Police believe Shannon entered Stancil's home about 7:30 p.m. Saturday through an open back door. After the attack, Stancil stumbled to a neighbor's house for help. She was taken to an Athens area hospital and then airlifted to another hospital in Augusta, where she spent the weekend in intensive care.

Shannon has been transported to the city of Winder, where he is charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated battery. He will be held in the Barrow County Detention Center, and more charges are expected to be filed against him Tuesday.

WHAT IN THE HELL??????? Does anyone else see anything wrong with the headline?? This was a very sad and senseless incident that has happened, but there is no point in being racist. My condolesense goes out to the victim's family and I hope they stone the guy who did this, but the negro shit can be put to rest...

Hello Keke, thanks for stopping in.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the headline. What is it about the photograph that leads you to believe he is not a negro?

I do agree that it is sad that this negro senselessly burst into that elderly lady's home, attempted to rob and then viciously beat her. The negroes seem to have a tendency to do things like that.

Again, thanks for stopping in. I'll be updating soon, so be sure to stop back by.
